After the collapse of the Chamborigaud bridge, the merchants and the villagers set up a citizen’s box to assess the extent of the difficulties encountered by the residents.
A support network “System D” established in the small village of Chamborigaud. Since its bridge collapsed on Monday, March 18, some residents of the town of just 1,000 inhabitants mobilized to convey the difficulties experienced by residents since this incident.
Problems and solutions in a box
“After the discussion with the deputy Michel Sala, we concluded that the installation of a citizen’s cock will already be a good first step”explains Emmanuelle Deshaies, co-manager, with her husband Jacky, of the local butcher shop.. “In this way, everyone will be able to use the democratic instrument and discuss the problems encountered due to the disappearance of the bridge, but also the ideas of solutions that they have in mind to remedy them”.
Minors, adults, children, retirees… Everyone will be able to put a note in a box made of recycled materials, set up in front of the butcher’s shop in the Town Hall square. “By collecting everyone’s feelings, we hope to ensure that the population does not feel isolated in the face of this already complicated situation. It is a way to stay united.”adds Emmanuelle Deshaies.
Before a public meeting
The great Chamborigaud bridge should not be rebuilt for at least 18 months. To avoid the diversion in the square to reach Génolhac, the construction of a temporary bridge is on track, although the first works have been postponed until next week due to days of bad weather. Meanwhile, any comments, problems, or ideas for solutions that could improve the life of Chamborigaudois are welcome.
This initiative allows, in addition to maintaining local solidarity, to “It gives the most accurate picture of the country’s situation,” shortly before a public meeting, chaired by Michel Sala, which will take place soon.
